Mexico City is a starting point and introduction to the country for many, with its many fine buildings and unique Mexican ambience. Mexico’s history covers many centuries, and you will still find evidence of many eras. Around Mexico City itself, you will see remains from ancient Aztec times.

In the surrounding area, wonderful colonial towns such as San Miguel de Allende and Morelia are not far from Mexico City. The Yucatan Peninsula is the place for Mayan discoveries, such as Chichen Itza and others less well known but arguably more impressive. Travel north and enter a rugged, scenic area best explored on the famous Chihuahua al Pacifico train.

Mexico’s beaches are perfect for recovering after sightseeing or for a completely relaxing holiday. Acapulco on the Pacific Coast is one of the world’s iconic resorts, though there are many more to choose from both along the Pacific Coast and further north in Baja California. The Caribbean coast in Riviera Maya offers a further selection of stunning beaches and fine resorts and hotels.
