When visiting Brazil, Rio is a must. One of the world’s great cities with the instantly recognisable image of the statue of Christ the Redeemer looking down on the beaches of Rio and Corcovado.

A great place to start or finish your holiday, you should allow time to savour the special relaxed atmosphere and see the sights. Do not miss the Botanical Gardens, Lagoa or the colonial central area with its art galleries and museums as well as fashionable restaurants and bars. Of course, the beaches are a central part of Rio and need to be enjoyed.

Copacabana is still the most well-known and iconic. Over time, though, hotels and restaurants have colonised other bays further from the city centre. This process started with Ipanema and Leblon and now has reached the latest fashionable beach at Barra. Wherever you choose, you can be sure of a warm Brazilian welcome.
