Madikwe has spectacular scenery with volcanic intrusions, wide open spaces and the scenic Marico River in the east which makes it ideal for exploring.

Even though it is the fifth largest game reserve in South Africa it is also one of the lesser known ones. So it does not suffer the same overcrowding as parts of the National Parks and is a true hidden gem offering exceptional opportunities to see the Big Five.

Situated adjacent to the Botswana border and close to the Kalahari Desert this reserve is home to over 350 species of birds and a number of rare animal species such as brown hyena, cheetahs and aardwolves.

There are a wide variety of lodges and accommodation available including Eco lodges which offer a true wildlife experience.
