The most remote Tambopata Research Center takes longer to reach and has fewer facilities than others. With no humans nearby, however, sightings of large species are more frequent and jaguars are sometimes seen. The lodge offers a comfortable, authentic rainforest experience.

Guests fly to Puerto Maldonado then take a three hour boat trip for an overnight stay in Refugio Amazonas, where colourful toucans and parrots can be observed. Next day the four hour boat journey to the lodge provides your best chance of sighting a jaguar. During your stay guided excursions take you in search of wildlife. Meals are wholesome three course buffets of Peruvian and international dishes.
