Isandlwana Lodge overlooks the battlefields and plains and is built in the shape of a shield in traditional Zulu style into the hill. The stone and thatch lodge, decorated with a blend of modern and ethnic styles, is an excellent base for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful scenery and historic surroundings.

Excellent guided tours of the battlefields bring to life Anglo-Zulu history and its famous battles and a library has an excellent stock of books to provide further insights. Other activities include guided walks, horse riding and bird-watching. There is an outdoor swimming pool with sun terrace with stunning views. The dining room serves local cuisine and there is a friendly, intimate bar where guests can congregate to socialise.
