Example Itinerary

Days 1 and 2 : London to Guayaquil

Fly overnight to Guayaquil, Ecuador’s largest city and gateway to the Galapagos Islands.

Day 2 : Guayaquil to Galapagos Islands

Fly to Galapagos Islands to join your cruise ship.

Days 2 to 8 : Galapagos Islands cruise | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

For wildlife lovers, the Galapagos are an unequalled experience. Little has changed since Darwin’s visit almost 200 years ago. As the Galapagos is made up of about twenty islands, many with quite different terrain and wildlife, a yacht or expedition cruise ship gives you access to a number of islands in one holiday. With few external predators and limited human interference, the species that inhabit the Galapagos are nearly fearless of people. Close encounters are assured from snoozing sea lions and iguanas to watching the courting rituals of blue-footed boobies, albatross or frigate birds from close quarters. Over eight days your cruise ship will take you to a number of very different islands to explore in the water and on land.

Day 9 : Galapagos Islands to Quito

Time to disembark and fly back to Quito.

Days 9 and 10 : Quito | Meals: Breakfast

Quito, nestled in a long, narrow valley in the Andes on the slopes of volcano Pichincha, is one of the most compelling cities in Latin America. An afternoon walking tour takes in museums, colonial buildings and other highlights. The following day take a full day tour to Mindo Cloud Forest. Very different to the Amazon, this forest high in the mountains relies on the clouds for its water supply, which encourages different species of wildlife.

Day 11 : Quito to Amazon Basin

Fly to Amazon Basin and transfer to rainforest lodge.

Days 11 to 13: Amazon Basin | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Another unique experience. Three days to explore the rainforest with your guides both on foot and on river boats. Searching for elusive animals, birds and studying the flora and plants of this unspoilt corner of the world.

Day 14 : Amazon Basin to Quito

Time to return home starting with a flight to Quito then an overnight flight home.

Day 15 : London

Arrival in London.
