Beaches near Rio

We have chosen three different beach resorts on the coasts accessible from Rio to provide an opportunity for a few days relaxation at some point during your holiday.

Paraty is a picturesque fishing port with well preserved colonial buildings and cobblestone streets closed to traffic. Many writers, artists and chefs have chosen Paraty as their home, which has created a trendy, relaxed ambiance with many interesting shops, galleries and restaurants. The beaches outside of the town and clear waters are delightful places to relax.

Buzios, three hours from Rio, was once a favourite haunt of Brigitte Bardot. Nowadays it is frequented by Brazilian celebrities and international visitors. Buzios is a sophisticated resort. Its enchanting beaches, excellent restaurants and night life make it an attractive choice for a more lively beach holiday.

Angra dos Reis is a popular getaway for residents of Rio with its wild coastline dotted with sandy coves and clear blue seas. Angra dos Reis itself is still a busy port, so the best accommodation and beaches are to be found nearby along the coast. Beautiful beaches and hotel facilities mean that many visitors do not need to stray far and can chill out away from the crowds.
